How Much Does a Thailand Honeymoon Cost?

A comfortable 10-night Thailand honeymoon costs roughly $6,000 to $10,000 per couple before international flights. Compare indicative stay ranges and island tradeoffs.

If you want one planning number, use $6,000 to $10,000 per couple for 10 nights in Thailand, before international flights.

That is the comfortable version: a good room, private transfers where they matter, plenty of dinners you actually want, and a few special experiences.

It can also buy some genuinely impressive beach views. Just not every view, every private pool, and every island in the same trip.

Planning range, not a quote: $6,000 to $10,000 is a rough range for the Thailand portion of the trip. Your room, dates, and island choices can push it lower or much higher.

The hotel searches below show why the range moves so much. They are snapshots, not live packages.

Start with the stay, because it moves first

These are Expedia search observations, checked July 20, 2026. They are indicative only.

Each search covered two adults, one room, and 10 nights. The exact room product, cancellation terms, fees, and inclusions were not captured.

Treat these as a first price band for the destination, not a quote and not a hotel recommendation.

Destination Travel dates Indicative 10-night stay total What the price does and does not tell you
Phuket January 18 to 28, 2027 Pacific Club Resort: US$2,131, about THB 71,325. Villa Zolitude Resort & Spa: US$4,002, about THB 133,947. A wide initial band for Phuket. It does not price the beachfront room categories discussed below.
Krabi January 18 to 28, 2027 Holiday Style Ao Nang Beach Resort Krabi: US$1,119, about THB 37,453. Nakamanda Resort & Spa: US$3,168, about THB 106,033. Krabi has a meaningful spread before you even get to Railay. These observations do not price Rayavadee.
Koh Phi Phi January 18 to 28, 2027 OUTRIGGER Phi Phi Island Resort: US$4,174, about THB 139,704. One island-resort observation, with boat logistics still outside the number.
Koh Yao Noi January 18 to 28, 2027 9 Hornbills Tented Camp: US$4,510, about THB 150,950. TreeHouse Villas Koh Yao, adults only: US$8,196, about THB 274,320. A high peak-season ceiling for privacy-led stays. These are not Cape Kudu quotes.
Khao Lak January 18 to 28, 2027 ROBINSON KHAO LAK: US$2,619, about THB 87,658. OUTRIGGER Khao Lak Beach Resort: US$2,650, about THB 88,696. A useful initial comparison for a mainland beach base. These are not JW Marriott quotes.
Koh Samui February 8 to 18, 2027 Saree Samui Natures Finest Resort: US$1,865, about THB 62,422. Fair House Villas & Spa: US$2,712, about THB 90,771. A Gulf-coast comparison for the approved February scenario. These are not Hyatt Regency or Kimpton quotes.

The big lesson is not that one island is cheap and another is expensive.

The room, location, beach access, privacy, and transfer burden can move the number more than the island name.

The named hotels below are our first generic shortlist picks. We would not choose the actual property until we know your dates, how much privacy you want, and whether you care more about the beach, food, or getting there easily.

Thailand does not have one beach forecast

The Thai Meteorological Department's 30-year climate data separates Thailand's southern west and east coasts for a reason.

The west coast, including Phuket and Krabi, normally gets its heaviest rain around September. The east coast, including Samui, normally gets its heaviest rain around November.

That is why January is our first Andaman comparison and February is our first Samui comparison. It is a planning pattern, not a weather promise.

Closer to the trip, the current forecast, beach flags, and boat operator still make the call.

Phuket is easy, but only after you pick the right beach

Phuket works for couples who want the simplest operational start and a wide choice of full-service stays. Phuket International Airport is the gateway, then the trip becomes a road transfer to the right part of the island.

The right part matters more than people expect.

Bang Tao and Laguna are a strong first place to look if you want a resort district and actual beachfront room categories. SAii Laguna is one of our first generic shortlist picks there.

SAii Laguna has Beach Access room and suite categories with a private terrace and direct beach access.

Kamala is a different tradeoff. Hyatt Regency Phuket is one of our first generic shortlist picks for views and resort dining. It is hillside at the south end of Kamala and runs a complimentary shuttle to Kamala Beach.

It can make sense for views, resort dining, and a private experience, but it is not a walk-out Kamala Beach hotel.

So Phuket is not one beach experience. A couple wanting to step from the room onto sand should check that room category, not assume the hotel name settles it.

The other tradeoff is water and boat plans. Phuket is on the Andaman-facing west coast.

Thai Meteorological Department warnings show that southwest-monsoon periods can bring heavy rain and seas of two to three metres. Small boats may need to stay ashore in severe conditions.

Do not build a honeymoon around guaranteed swimming or a boat day in a low-season scenario until the near-travel forecast and operator confirm it.

Krabi and Railay make you earn the view

Krabi is for the couple who wants limestone cliffs, beaches, and snorkeling or diving near the top of the list.

Railay is the sharper version of that choice. It is boat access, not a simple road-resort extension.

That is a worthwhile trade for couples who are happy with a self-contained stay and dramatic scenery.

It is a weaker fit if you want easy airport transfers, frequent independent dinners, or a plan that stays flexible when low-season boat operations change.

Rayavadee is one of the first Railay stays we would price for private villas, beachside dining, and resort-led experiences. Its rate still depends on the room and dates.

The Krabi price observations above are useful for the broader region. They should not be used to imply a Rayavadee price.

Phi Phi is not automatically quiet

Phi Phi is for an active couple who puts limestone scenery, snorkeling, and diving near the top of the list.

It has a major location split. Tonsai Beach and Village are the lively side, with bars, restaurants, and nightlife.

Smaller beaches can be a better honeymoon setting, but the island is not nightlife-free by default.

SAii Phi Phi Island Village, in Loh Ba Gao Bay, is one of our first generic shortlist picks if staying away from Tonsai while keeping on-property dining, a spa, a dive centre, and private beach dining matters.

Private beach dining is advertised, but the total price, inclusions, cancellation terms, and non-guest access are inquiry required.

Arrival routing is not a small detail here. SAii's material states that its direct hotel boat service is via Phuket.

The schedule, luggage policy, private-transfer total, and medical-access limitations are still unknown.

Phi Phi suits couples who accept that boat-dependent logistics are part of the trip. It is not the worry-free default for someone who wants easy mainland access.

Koh Yao slows the whole trip down

Koh Yao Noi sits between Phuket and Krabi. It is the slow, private-pool, intentionally unhurried option.

The crossing itself can be about 40 minutes from Phuket's Bang Rong Pier or about 20 minutes from Krabi's Tha Len Pier.

That is only the crossing. It does not include the flight, road transfer, bags, pier wait, or a weather buffer.

This is the place to choose when quiet, views, and time at the hotel are the point.

It is not the place to choose if you need a broad swimmable beach, many walkable restaurants, or no boat connection.

Cape Kudu is one of our first generic shortlist picks. It has sea-view rooms, pool villas, two restaurants, a bar, private beach dining, and boat excursions. Its live rate depends on the room and dates.

The private dinner details, boat format, price, weather cutoff, and pickup details are inquiry required.

Koh Yao Yai needs its own check. It is not interchangeable with Koh Yao Noi.

Khao Lak skips the island transfer

Khao Lak is for a couple who wants a beachfront resort base without adding an island-transfer layer.

It makes the most sense for long beach time, on-property dining, spa time, and a slower stay.

It is less suited to couples who want dense nightlife, compact walkability, or island hopping every day.

JW Marriott Khao Lak is one of our first generic shortlist picks. Its beachfront villas, suites, and rooms can step onto Khuk Khak Beach.

One important room-category detail: a pool-access room is not the same as a private pool. If privacy is the reason for the upgrade, check for a villa.

The hotel currently lists Italian dining at Olive, a beachfront grill at Drift, and private beach or villa dining.

Menu totals for two and reservation details remain unknown. Private dining is inquiry required.

Khao Lak can be the calmer, lower-logistics answer.

It still needs current transfer quotes, beach and sea-condition checks, and a food plan outside the resort before it becomes a full honeymoon recommendation.

Samui depends on which Samui you mean

Samui gives couples an island honeymoon with a broad hotel, dining, and activity base. It also has area differences that are easy to flatten into one vague idea of Samui.

Tourism Thailand highlights Chaweng, Lamai, Taling Ngam, and Bo Phut as distinct areas. A couple should not assume every part of the island will feel equally quiet.

Skip Samui if you want to eliminate road-transfer planning, or if the honeymoon depends on every part of the island feeling equally quiet.

Hyatt Regency Koh Samui and Kimpton Kitalay Samui are two of our first generic shortlist picks for different reasons.

Hyatt Regency Koh Samui is eight minutes from the airport, according to Hyatt.

Its seven oceanfront villas have private pools and direct beach access. It is also described as family-friendly, so the guest mix and pool-villa availability should be checked.

Kimpton Kitalay Samui offers rooms, suites, and villas with large terraces, including some pool-access and sea-view options.

Beach access still needs verification for the specific room and stay.

For a food-forward couple, there are real on-property options to investigate.

Hyatt's SESUN Grill & Beach Bar is a beachfront Thai seafood grill. As a rough reference, breakfast is about THB 470++ per person, and a Thai savoury set is about THB 350++ per person.

Those are dated menu observations, not a dinner budget for two.

Beach cabana dining, Oasis on the Rocks, and in-villa dining are available to investigate at Hyatt. Price and cancellation terms are inquiry required.

And the rest of the budget...

A private room with a good beach is only part of the honeymoon cost.

The $6,000 to $10,000 range leaves room for domestic flights, transfers, meals, and a few private or special experiences at a planning level.

International flights stay separate because the departure city and cabin change that number too much.

Choose a peak-season private-pool villa or add another island and the total can move past $10,000 quickly. Choose a simpler room and one beach base and it can come down.

We would still quote the actual room and anything private for your dates. A rough range is useful. A fake exact number is not.
